The only real voter fraud in Indiana came from the GOP and their candidate for Secretary of State, Charlie White.  His social security number would not have deterred him from the voter and election fraud that he committed.

This is clearly a GOP attempt to intimidate and suppress voters from casting their vote.  Of course the GOP believes that any tactic is justified as long as they can "impose their opinion" on the lives of the people and remain in office.  After all, it is God's intention.

The GOP who invented dirty tricks going back to the Nixon and Reagan years continues.  It sure makes our election look no different that what took place in the Soviet Union, Iran, and other Thug nations in the world.

Picture ID's would solve the majority of the problems and the fraud.  Illegals and dead people (who traditionally vote Democratic) would have a hard time obtaining a picture ID.

It appears that pro-fraud Dems are concerned that the deceased, out-of-state, and undocumented ballots they are counting on for "victory" may not be tabulated. C'mon man!

Obamahater (11/2/2012)
maybe somebody can answer a question where do I find out where I have to go to to vote next Tuesday I can't find my card that came in the mail

Call the County Clerk's office.

No. Please don't call. I think we'd all be a little bit better off.

This is not a problem with the Clerk's office - DONT CALL THEM - The Secretary of the State of Indiana is responsible.

One thing that you can do if you get asked is to remind the poll worker that they are personally increasing their risk for becoming a criminal suspect in an identity theft case if they continue to do this AND they are not required under the rules to do so.

I am going to do some networking and see if there is a central organization like the National Lawyers Guild who has started a law suit.

We need to get an emergency order before a Federal Judge to throw it out.

They have a photo ID - What more do they need?  Banks give me money with less than that.

Just don't give them your SS#. I took my mother to vote early and she was asked the same thing. She was told she didn't have to give it to them and she didn't.

Tom Butler, so much wasted energy over a non issue?

When I go to Lowes they always ask for my phone number. I don't give that to them either.

Steve - I worked as an Inspector at a polling location in Elkhart County in the Primary.

This is a big issue BECAUSE of  the risk that this rule is putting in place to poll workers.

In financial institutions and credit card companies and other places that handle incredibly confidential financial information like this, there are all kinds of training programs and safeguards put in place to protect both the company and the worker from lawsuits and criminal investigations over identity theft should a problem arise in the future.

There are none of these types of things happening in this case with this new last minute and poorly thought out change in procedures.

This means that a poll worker who has no malicious intent could be possibly investigated and have NO shield of protection against criminal investigations should a voter have an identity theft problem in the future and go back on them.

Finding good poll workers and getting them trained is hard enough and it is an important public service job.  This rule puts them at undue risk that no respectable financial institution would ever do to their workers.
