This is great but I'm going to miss that picture that had become a tradition n every yearbook of students running across the track just before the train arrives.

JackN,

Goshen College.  That reminds me.  Was your friend an instructor or administrator or associated with the College in some other way---the one at whose house you spoke with President Carter?

I've been through the GC tunnel, about 5 days ago, and, as of yet there are no graffiti, or gang crimes, etc. Doesn't it remind you of those couch potato people that complained about putting a tunnel under Plymouth Ave. at Shanklin Park?

[b]JackN (11/9/2012)   Nope.  My friend who built the house didn't go to college within 500 miles of here.  The one who had Carter at his place didn't go to any Mennonite Colleges   either.

In my entire life I've laid eyes on only one U.S. president, George W. Bush;--- twice for a grand total of maybe seven or eight seconds.  It's an interesting enough story, I think, and I'd be happy to tell it to anyone who asks for it.  But, no doubt, it can't compare to your learning from President Carter about his private feelings, feelings that he's not otherwise made public.  You simply must give us more.  When and where did this happen?  What other information did he give you?  Did you give him an idea about how you feel about his presidency?  I'd like to know.

I'll say this about Carter, he was a very flawed President, but he is an outstanding human being that the world could use a lot more of.  I think he is one who is sincere enough to admit that mistakes were made.  Unlike the current POTUS he earned his Nobel Peace Prize not only for his Middle East Peace Summit in the late 70's, but in his international humanitarian work since leaving office.

Jack, did you meet Jimmy Carter in-person?

That's nice.  What I really am wanting to know about, though, is this dinner at your friend's house, where President Carter gave you information that the rest of us know nothing about.  What went on?  Did you  have an opportunity to meet his wife?  It must have been very interesting.

Sorry.
"Sorry."---JackN.

For those who have not been paying a whole lot of attention here let me paraphrase JackN's "Sorry".  It's like this:  'OK, I said something really dumb and when I was asked to back it up with a link I made up a bit of a tall tale.  Jimmy Carter, I said, told me personally that he was a pacifist.  I figured I'd covered my ***, see, because there was no way that it could be proven or dis-proven.  Then I tried waiting 'till everybody'd forgotten about it but that didn't work out.  So, now that I'm still in this pickle  "sorry" means---hell no, I'm cutting my losses; I'm not digging this hole any deeper for myself.

'Time heals all wounds and for me that never takes long.  Now, back to whining about the election results and trashing relativists.  Have a nice day.

Well, I'll say this, you've got bigger balls than I do and that's saying something when you're a woman.  It takes some big ones to accuse someone you don't even know of lying without any evidence to the contrary.  Really if that's all you got then I have no idea why you bother getting on this forum.  I still find it humorous that you are the only one on here that tells the truth.
When a guy with a proven record for lying on this forum tells an unbelievable tales and then inexplicably shies away from providing any details about it then yes, he's lying.
