Oh yes, but you forget that the state can now claim surplus money in their coffers and they can give a trickle back in a tax rebate.  The GOP who "can't keep track of where the money is" have exclusive bragging rights of sound fiscal management.  After all, it was that man's Mitch's way of doing business and now Pence needs to do one more upmanship.

As Indycar02 posted in another thread:

"This shortfall in revenue coming back to the county and cities is nothing new, it's been happening for years. That's what happens when local official's turn their back's on the problem of illegal aliens in the  workforce. They don't file state tax returns so the money withheld is never returned to Elkhart county or the repsective city. So you reap what you so. As the Rev. Wright would say, the chickens have  come home to roost. "

It's so very true that the state has no tax return to attribute what county that the money should go to, so they keep it.  Do you really expect that with amnesty that it will be any different?  Will they really file a tax return and admit that they don't have as many deductions as they claim and settle for a smaller take home check?

JackN, how about just sticking to "right or wrong"?  \

And the last I knew, employers report tax W/H on forms W-2.  These include an employer ID number used by the state for purposes of -you guessed it- identifying what employer withheld the tax.

"Indiana employers withhold part of their workers’ pay to cover state and local income taxes, then send the money to the Indiana Department of Revenue. Counties get the money back each spring after workers file their tax returns."

"But they only receive part of the money, because some workers — often undocumented immigrants — never file."

Thats never going to happen. Why? because the "POWERS AT BE" want these sneaky mexican devils here working cheap to power the machine.

I agree, this information could be traced right to the company that employs these sneaky cheaters very easily. But then again who is going to work for peanuts if they do that? a monkey?

"we're always being told that illegals do the work that American's won't do.  By it's very definition then, these jobs should pay comparatively well.  Which is it? "

don't know those answers. can only guess. read me the definition again ,verbatim

But I never bought into "being told that illegals do the work that American's won't do. "

So...according to the Truth, the extra tax dollars that are in the state coffers, our tax dollars, should be redistributed to the unemployed, oft lazy slackards who subsist on handouts? Use our tax dollars to provide them with food?

Not saying that everybody who needs a hand up is a slackard, but there are many amongst this crowd who are career takers...lazy types who know well how to work the System and which church food pantry to go to for free lunches every day and where to go for free groceries.

I don't mind at all with helping those in need, but the career "takers" who have a pat schedule as to where to go for a free breakfast, a free lunch, and then go get free groceries?

This happens far more often than this paper will ever begin to delve into.
