Good idea let 'em walk to school. And regarding the band, if they have to pay why doesn't the sports teams have to pay? Eh???????? The band has been much more sucessful over the past years then any of their sports teams.

What a good idea the GOP has had .  Give tax cuts to corporations, and the top 1%.  Make special deals with companies by suspending their taxes for "economic" development.  But make sure kids cannot get to school.

As for economic development, it makes more sense to do everything to educate the children so they can have jobs.  Companies will want their employees kids to be in school and have transportation.  I don't see many companies deciding to have people come in late and go home early just to pick up their kids at school.

Shows that the GOP priorities is money - Money in their own pocket put there by themselves and the lobbyists they represent.

One more thing, with the elimination of school buses the folks in the transportation department would, presumably, all lose their jobs.  Does anyone really think that is going to happen?

I would also say the property tax meant for transportationcould also be eliminated.  No reason for the tax if the service is nolonger being provided.

This is no different than cities threatening cut in policeand fire departments if taxes are not raised or Obama stunt with the air trafficcontrollers.

Maybe Goshen should stop buying computers for each student.

Time to eliminate tax payer funding for all the extras.  Private busing makes a lot more sense than letting the schools run it.

If kids want to participate in music, sports, cheer leading, etc. let their parents pay for it.

Get back to teaching the basics!

Dear America,

You probably have another major war to fight somewhere, don't you? You have our permission to spend all your money on that. But please continue to ignore anything that could make your kids smarter than ours, ok?

Love, China

Throwing more money at education is unlikely to improve it. Until we fix welfare, education is going to continue to fail. Why work hard and study when you'll just get a government check for free?

The school had more than enough money to bus the students but they OPTED to waste that money buying laptops. Whose fault is this, and would throwing more money at Goshen Schools result in busing or would they just find something else to waste it on so they could threaten to stop busing again next year?

Wasted on laptops?

I suppose you think that kids of the world are still using books and chalkboards? You need to get with MODERN times.

The century has changed ---- and if we PURPOSELY retard our kids with paper and pencil, while other countries are teaching robotics and nano technology, this nation is going to sink like a stone.  Behaving as if we are Third World is NOT what made this nation great.

And we will know who to blame for it too.  The people who felt $12 tax refund was better than advancing their own nation.

Giving every kis a laptop isn't going to teach robotics and nano technology.  Only the kids taking these classes need the computers so have the computers in the classromms where they are needed.

In many ways the good old fashion pencil, paper, and book is the best way to learn.
