One close connection for local people with the KEnnedy family was when Rose Kennedy, the matriarch, visited Elkhart so that we could shake her hand, during the RFK campaign.

I was age 14 on the fatal day 50 years ago, and our family did not have a TV, so I heard the news on the school intercom system.  Life changed for our society, as we boomers came of age.

Younger people need to understand the significance of this event which might have been viewed as the first major tipping point to the corporate take over event.  The following message was put out by a guy who is one of my favorite young role models.  He is just over 30 years old and has been wildly successful in entrepreneurial businesses.  I like him because he loves small business but also gets how the large corporations have took us over.

The division in America that Maxwell describes has been created by a 50+ year corporate propaganda campaign:

Happy military industrial complex takeover day! 50 years ago, there was a coup in Dallas. Do the research. Oswald got the job from a known French intelligence agent George DeMohrenshildt. LBJ bragged the night before to his mistress the the Kennedy's had made a fool of him for the last time. Howard Hunt confessed on his deathbed and named names. Props to <anonymous> and others for never giving up connecting the dots. Do the research yourself. Oswald was put there by powerful men who wanted Kennedy to pay for Bay of Pigs and wanted a war in Vietnam. It was the perfect crime. RFK and JFK would have been amazing for this country if they were allowed to live. Instead we got Tricky Dick, Ford, Carter and the Bushes. Everybody lost.

The Kennedy assassination was a terrible tragedy for the nation.  Even worse than the actual murder, though (in my opinion), was that so many Americans came away with the feeling that their government could no longer be trusted when the chips are down.  It, the government, along with the news media, were all too ham handed with their Oswals-as-the-single-assassin idea, much too willing to twist or ignore or eliminate evidence which pointed elsewhere.` Now, there is no going back.

I believe the phrase was "tune in, turn ON, and drop out".
