thank you thank you feed the children for you efforts!

the line at the church in Bristol is a block long- as I observed while passing by - families with children line the streets. breaks my heart, yet so thankful for the services that can provide for those in need and how blessed they will feel receiving...

This is such an incredible thing.  Can you imagine that someone that doesn't even know you, cares enough about you and your family's well-being that they would give you their time and hard work to see that you are taken care of?  Isn't it a blessing?  I did not get to see this or take part in this, but I can imagine the feeling the volunteers had, helping out strangers in need.  I can also imagine the feeling the families had receiving such a wonderful gift!  I hope we can continue to give and receive such support in the future.

I pray every day that someone is going to come up with a magnificent idea that will put Elkhart back on the map. If we all work together, maybe we can come up with something on our own!

My husband tells me the entire area around Concord Mall is completely gridlocked and there was no getting to the grocery store.

I'd like to thank Feed the Children for stepping up and giving help at a time when this area needs it.While the wait may have seemed long, it was well worth the wait, and for the size of this effort, was extremely well organized. Security was there to help, was very pleasant and the volunteers were ecstatic with every box and bag they put in the vehicles.

Thanks for taking on a monumental task, and thank God that everything went smoothly.

There are many magnificient ideas that can put Elkhart back on the map and can put the rest of the country and the entire world on the path to permanent sustainable development once again.

Friedman penned another incredible piece of work in last Sunday's NYT exactly to this point:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/08/opinion/08friedman.htm

The problem is not in the ideas themselves - it is in the seed capital to execution.  Proven in a Nobel Lauriate type of way by The Grameen Bank a few years back.

This is why community gardens and permaculture are so incredibly important right now for folks to plan to do this Spring.  We need to have free food but also free seeds and fertilizer and gardening classes for folks too.

This is why Italy lived "La Dulce Vida" on 1/2 of the average income and with tens of hours average work less outside of their homes - because everyone has a garden instead of a back yard...with everything from grapes to dates.

We live in one of the most agriculturally productive counties in the nation in one of the bread baskets of the world on top of one of the best aquifers in the Nation and we are having other people feed us?

With a little community involvement and planning we can start fresh this Spring and never have this happen again!

I would just like to let everyone know that if you are still in need or know anyone that is, Elkhart First Brethren Church on CR 16 has quite a bit of the packages left over that we are going to be giving away through our food pantry, Christ's Commissary. We are open the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. 9AM on both dates and 9AM and again at 6PM on the 3rd Thursdays. Doors are open for an hour. All you need is some sort of ID just for information to keep track of your family and how many mouths you feed. That way we are prepared for you if you come back!

Brian you are a very interesting writer and have a great future as a novelist in front of you.  Kinda like a fortune cookie, heh?

its ok cuz im gonna sit on my..rear and make triangle rubber pay me for my unemployment like ive been doing..for 4 months..not counting the extensions.maybe they will think twice laying someone off just because they have medical issues.which i have resolved...this town is very sad..i do go to church why dont u try living on 200 buks a week..i can do it tho and i will..u all think its funny being layed off..hell i got laid off cuz i had an kidney stone with no damn health insurance cuz triangle rubber cancelled it..all they do is hire illegal aliens..anyways which im taking proper measure..with the immigration dept...i can prove there are illegals there i have names of them ...ill bring triangle rubber down!! be like im taking triangle rubber !!andrea holderman i hope u are reading this im gonna teach u a lesson on hiring illegals...and im gonna teach u a lesson on laying someone off cuz they got medical issues it isnt riight!!haha kathy chupp..instead of laying off ur good workers why dont u get rid of the illegals or have u forgotten where u came from...sure i missed alot of work,,,only because my medical issues and u all knew about it..most of ur illegals there cant even count to ten..let alone run a press,,or read a damn sentence..i know why u dont lay illegals off cause they check them out at the unemployment office..unlike triangle rubber
