The Elkhart Truth helps promote literacy throughout Elkhart County and surrounding communities through its Newspapers In Education program.
By providing newspapers, lesson plans and activities at no cost to educators, The Elkhart Truth helps elementary through high school, special needs, adult and English as a New Language students apply what they learn in class to the “real world.”
With support of area business sponsors The Elkhart Truth's Newspapers In Education Program distributes over 750,000 newspapers annually to area schools.

The Indiana Newspaper in Education Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)3 corporation, enables companies and organizations to support a statewide literacy program by contributing newspapers for classrooms. 100% of every dollar donated goes toward purchasing newspapers for schools at no cost to the school. The foundation deducts no administrative fee.
