Rhonda Slabaugh(Reeves), Elkhart, IN

Although late, I am sorry to har of his passing. He was a great instructor and patient man.

Todd Johnson, Goshen, IN

I am so saddened by this news, Forrest was an amazing man and an equally amazing instructor, he didn't care what was going on or what time it was, if you didn't understand something he wouldn't quit until you understood it, that is a quality you don't find in many instructors these days. He sat with me personally for over an hour explaining the whole concept of factoring and really helped me to wrap my head around the concept that had been so illusive previously. He will be forever remembered and honored. RIP Prof. Nicholas

Nancy, you and family are constantly in our hearts and minds. We are so sorry that Woody has been taken from you so soon. If there was any way that he could have stayed to be here for you I know that he would have. You have our deepest sympathy.

Morris (Morry) Schrock, Avon, IN

God Speed and Bon Voyage Worshipful Brother Woody, My loss is that I did not belong to Tyrian while you were Master, and did not get to know you as well as I would have liked. So may we meet in that house designed by the Grand Architect of the Universe in the days to come. May God Bless your loved-ones in their time of loss.

Kim Mickey, Denver, CO

Nancy, Sarah, Sally, Susan, and families...May all your wonderful memories of Woody bring each one of you comfort in this difficult time. He will always be with you.

Paul Williams, South Bend, IN

I pray Woody has found peace in The Lord, and walks the streets of gold waiting for the time The Lord calls for you two to be together again. Lord sustain this brave woman, renew her strength, reign down your love on her and her family as she struggles to make sense of these recent events. Your plan is not ours Lord, and we cannot see the final outcome, we are to trust that this is the perfect plan, my faith and love for You Lord allows me to believe in that, share my faith and love with Nancy and her family today Lord, in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ I pray, AMEN.

Nancy and family, I just want to embrace you with my deepest sympathy. I enjoyed caring for Woody at EGH for a short time and will always treasure our "intellectual" conversations on everything from the molecular structure of aspirin to the complexities of religion. May God bless and keep you during this time of deep loss.

Cindy Bruggner, Elkhart, IN

I didn't know Forrest, but, I pray for his wife, Nancy. I believe she was a dear friend of mine who I lost touch with a long time ago. I'm so sorry for your loss, Nancy! And, for your family. I pray G-d sends His angels to care for you. Cindy (Whitmer) Bruggner

Robert Balint, Granger, IN

May God rest Woody's soul and may He give you strength and comfort now in your time of need. Someone said it is not the date of birth or the date of death but, the dash between that defines the person. Woody had a beautiful life that consisted of a dash too short but, a life lived with love. May His light continue to shine down upon you Nancy and give you strength.

Carrie , Goshen, IN

Mr. Nicholas was my math teacher. He was awesome! Everytime I had a question about math he was there to help me. Even after that semester he was still there to help me in other math classes. He will be missed tremendously.

Woody was my Algebra teacher who actually for once helped me love and enjoy going to school. Woody reached out to people when he could have been out Fly Fishing! He was by far the best teacher I have ever had in School. Very smart man and easy to listen to his stories he told. Always kept you thinking and striving for success which was what he wanted. I was a care giver for woody in critical care as an aide and he said to me... seeing my students here is the reason I teach. People like Woody are the reason students like me make it in life. He will be very missed.

Wally Johnson, South Bend, IN

So very sorry to learn of Woody's passing. Brenda and I wish to express our most sincere condolences. We have many fond memories of our times together on the water.

Van Villines, High Ridge, MO

Nancy, so sorry about Woody. Sounds like he loved life, his family and the animals around him. I'm sure he would want you to not mourn but find happiness and live your life like you have been with him to the fullest now without him. Be proud of him as I know you are, he had many accomplishments and was a leader in all he did. Van Villines

Carolyn Reed, Chandler, IN

Nancy you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers

Angie Hulva, Elkhart, IN

Nancy, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My husband Mitch is a Masonic brother of Woodys. They share a deep bond. I too have a special place in my heart for him. While studying for my RN state boards Woody so graciously took his time to help me me assure my success in the math area. I would not be where I am today in part without him. He was an amazing man! The Hulva Family. Mitch, Angie, Drew, and Sarah

Chuck Damp, Bristol, IN

I will never forget Woddy for his unselfish generosity helping students with Algebra. He has had such a positive influence on my education and I can look at LIFE in a whole new way thanks to him. He will be missed so much.

We worked together many years at Bayer and his humor will never be forgotten. He had names for most people and even though mine was "Pit Viper", it showed he cared about everyone he came in contact with.I am very sorry for your great loss. My prayers are with you and your family.
