James A. Buford Jr.

ELKHART - Mr. James Andrew Buford Jr., 42, of Elkhart, passed away at 8:23 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

James was born Aug. 26, 1970, to James Andrew Sr. and Johnny (Bonds) Buford in Elkhart. He worked for various local industries in Elkhart and was also a self-employed entrepreneur. He also was an entrepreneur. He loved shooting pool, fishing, playing poker and being around friends.

James was preceded in death by his father, James Andrew Buford Sr.; a brother, Jamie Harris Buford; two grandmothers, Madie Holt and Martha Bonds; and two grandfathers, Dennis Bonds and Johnny Henry Buford.

Survivors include his mother, Johnny Buford; one son, James A. Buford III; two sisters, Anita (Don) Williams and Affie (Michael) Bullock; one brother, Antyon Buford; two stepdaughters, TyShana and MarSheana Johnson; one stepson, DaMarius Conner; a special nephew, Robert Potts, all of Elkhart; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A service for James Andrew Buford Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at River of Life Church in Elkhart with burial following in Rice Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m.
