ELKHART - Jack Carlton Jerles, 77, of Elkhart, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at home.
He was born Aug. 30, 1935, to the late Carl W. and Mary C. (Creek) Jerles in Fort Wayne.
Jack is surivived by his daughters, Marilyn (Rodman) Bender and Linda (Michael) Snider, both of Elkhart, and Cynthia (Steven) Miller of Fort Wayne and grandchildren Bodie, Brock and Blane Bender, Tanner Jerles, Abigail Snider and Megan and Kristin Miller.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Thelma Creek.
Jack was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was discharged in 1955. He earned the National Defense, Korean and United Nations service medals.
He was a member of Bristol American Legion.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. Military services are at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, in LindenWood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, with Roger Bayak of Goshen Veterans Honor Guard presiding.
Burial will follow.
