GOSHEN - Levi Rockenbaugh, 85, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 8, 2013, in his home. He had been ill for several months.
He was born Sept. 15, 1927, in Noble county to Floyd and Dorothy (Chiddister) Rockenbaugh.
He married Carol A. Showalter on July 6, 1947, in Millersburg.
He is survived by three daughters, Anne (Mike) Pierce of Goshen, Ellen Swank of New Paris and Mary (Jeff) Taylor of Goshen; a son, Roger (Darcie) Rockenbaugh of Crawfordsville; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Rockenbaugh of Warsaw; and a sister-in-law, Martha Rockenbaugh of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Judy; and two brothers, Howard and Calvin Rockenbaugh.
Levi worked at Mogul Rubber for 45 years. He was a volunteer fireman with Clinton Township and a member at Zion Community Church, Millersburg. He enjoyed high school and college basketball, Chicago White Sox baseball and his grandkids' sporting events. He was a friendly soul who did not know a stranger.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. An 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, funeral service will be at the funeral home, led by Pastor Chris Howell of Zion Community Church, Millersburg.
Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
