Feb. 6, 1942 - Jan. 9, 2013

ALAMO, Texas - Gloria Jeanne Hammon, 70, of Elkhart, Ind., passed away at 4:12 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, in Alamo after a brief illness.

She was born on Feb. 6, 1942, in Elkhart.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Hammon Sr., also of Elkhart and wintering in Alamo; three daughters, Lannette Searer, Leslie Crane of Elkhart and Maureen Jennings of Union, Mich.; a daughter-in-law, Sondra Knight of Union; and five stepchildren, Ron Hammon Jr., Kent Hammon, Julie Kelbey, Dana Hammon and William Hammon; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Spivey; first husband, Theron Spivey; and granddaughter Courtney Troyer.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Amador Funeral Home, in Alamo.

Jan Leininger, Elkhart, IN For reasons unknown to us Jesus took you home as well, the day after he took Mom home. While we try to understand and deal with a second loss, we take comfort that you and Mom will be rejoicing together. You are no longer in pain and we are so greatful for that. You will also be deeply missed, especially by your daughters and many grandchildren that loved you so dearly but we take peace in knowing you are with our mother.
