GOSHEN - Lou Ella "Georgie" Bowen, 68, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Jan. 8, 2013, in her home of natural causes.
She was born Dec. 23, 1944, in Etowah, Ark., to William and Alice (Vail) McGuyre.
On March 11, 1963, she married the Rev. Paul David Bowen in Goshen. He survives.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mary McGuyre of Elkhart, Bobbie Kersey of South Haven, Miss., and Elva Franks of Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers James and William McGuyre; and two sisters, Velta Stroder and Shirley Jenkins.
Mrs. Bowen has been an area resident since 1983. She worked at several area locations, including IXL Furniture, Elkhart Hospital and Adlake. She was a member at Goshen Pentecostal House of Prayer.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Goshen Pentecostal House of Prayer, 110 Hackett Road, Goshen. Pastor Billy Lamb will officiate.
