ELKHART - Donna M. Rogers, 84, resident of Elkhart since 1969, died at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Greenleaf Health Campus.

Donna was born Aug. 2, 1928, in Rochester, Minn., to John and Agnes (Majerus) Thein.

She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Waterloo, Iowa.

Donna was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Four Arts Club, Women of the Moose, the former Frontier Club, Elks 425, Christiana Creek County Club, Phi Sigma Alpha, Winers and Diners Club, Red Hat Society and St. Thomas Solitaires.

She enjoyed playing golf, bridge and traveling. Donna was a homemaker.

Donna is survived by two daughters, Janet (Roger) Longest of Bowling Green, Ky., and Joanne Rogers of San Diego; three sons, David (Blythe) Rogers of Seguin, Texas, Steve (Lindsey) Rogers of Vista, Calif., and Craig Rogers of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Darlene (Bob) Levis of Waterloo, Gladys (Ken) Kessler of Venice, Fla., and Judy (Don) Ovel and Pat Schmitt, both of Waterloo; a brother, Tom Thein of Waterloo; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ron and Bill Thein.

Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. There will be a vigil service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at the funeral home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Father William Sullivan will officiate.

Entombment will be in Rice Cemetery, Chapel of Memories.
