July 31, 1952 - Jan. 11, 2013

ELKHART - Kurt C. Miller, 60, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Valley View Healthcare Center.

He was born July 31, 1952, in Plymouth to the late Robert and Della (Locker) Miller. He married Debra K. Smith on May 25, 1982.

She survives along with four children, Angela Miller and Melinda Miller, both of Florida, and Jessica Miller and Joshua Miller, both of Elkhart; three grandchildren, William Elijah and Jeffery Miller and Amber Miller; a brother, Brent (Faith) Miller of LaPorte; and a sister, Lisa (Brian) McKee of Plymouth.

Kurt graduated from New Prairie High School in 1970 and worked for Gunite Corp. for 15 years as a machinist and tow motor driver.

He was a member of Unitarian Universalist Church. He was an avid reader and motorcyclist.

Visitation for Kurt will be an hour prior to the 3 p.m. service Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart. The Rev. Amy DeBeck of U.U.F.E. will officiate.

Cremation will follow services.

Memorials may be given to Universal Unitarian Fellowship.

Adam Van Kirk, Houston, TX I was Kurt's neighbor for many years and a fellow attendee of UUFE. We never bumped heads there but I'm happy that we shared a church home, even if indirectly. I'm saddened to hear about his passing, but it is my sincere hope that the family will be able to honor his memory in the days and years to come.
