LAGRANGE - Joan A. Johnson, 78, of LaGrange, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Life Care Center of LaGrange.

She was born Nov. 6, 1934, to the late Ralph A. and Hilda B. (Marks) Baird in LaGrange County.

Joan worked as a nurse's aid at LaGrange Hospital.

Survivors include two sons, Doug (Rita) Sutton of Adams Lake, Wolcottville, and Jeffrey (Tonda) Sutton of LaGrange; grandchildren Stephanie (Trevor) Fry, Beau Sutton, Christopher (Stephanie Milner) Sutton, Jamie (Elizabeth) Sutton and Dustin Sutton; great-grandchildren Jeffrey, Ashton, Christian and Seth Sutton, Kylie and Emily Fry, and Astasia and Taylor Sutton; siblings Gloria Atkins of Boaz, Ala., Carolyn Betcke of LaGrange, Ronnie Baird of Elkhart and Jerry (Mary) Baird of Plainwell, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Joan in death were two sons, Kim and Gregory Sutton, and brother Paul Baird.

There will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Memorials may be contributed to the LaGrange County Council on Aging or Leukemia Foundation.
