ELKHART - Jean E. Swinehart, 87, of Elkhart, passed away at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Riverside Village.
She was born April 10, 1925, in Three Oaks, Mich., to Henry and Elizabeth (Swedenberg) Schroeder.
On Feb. 9, 1946, in Elkhart, she married Eldon Swinehart Jr. He preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2005, in Elkhart.
Surviving is a daughter, Kathy Hatfield and a son, Ronald (Linda) Swinehart, both of Elkhart; four grandchildren, Scott (Kara) Coryn and Casey Swinehart, both of Goshen and Shawn Swinehart and Andrea Corter, both of Elkhart; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ethell.
Jean was a member of Quarter Century at CTS and attended Dunlap United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts and ceramics. Jean retired in 1987 from CTS Corp. where she worked for 41 years.
Visitation for family and friends is from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at the funeral home. Pastor Carl Henry from Northside Baptist Church will preside. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.
