Harvard L. Davis

ELKHART - Harvard L. Davis, 91, of Elkhart, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born Dec. 30, 1921, in Grayson, Ky., to Charles and Martha (Everman) Davis.

On June 1, 1951, in Three Rivers, Mich., he married Donna J. Kauffman.

She survives along with a daughter, Patricia Davis of Elkhart; a son, Michael Davis of Cumberland, R.I.; five granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty (Kenneth) Shriner of Warsaw.

Harvard was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers and sisters.

Harvard was the proprietor of Davis Bos's Furniture in Elkhart for 35 years and retired in 1986. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Harvard was also a U.S. Merchant Marine.

There are no services. Cremation will take place.

Memorial Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
