Morris J. Jones

MIDDLEBURY - Morris J. Jones, 84, of Middlebury, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Eastlake Terrace.

He was born on Feb. 14, 1928, to Claude and Treva (Vinning) Jones.

He married Lydia L. Williamson on March 20, 1950, in Richmond.

She survives along with three sons, Wesley Jones of Elkhart, Douglas Jones of Columbus, Ohio, and Randall (Anne) Jones of Bristol; two daughters, Karen (Chris Wolfe) Jones of Bristol and Teresa (Tom) McFall of Ellisville; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Roberta (Melvin) Gerstner of Union City.

He was preceded in death by a son, Craig Jones; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marlene Jones; and a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Joe Graham.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing. Burial is place in Rice Cemetery at a later date.

Mr. Jones was operations manager for Dometic Sales, Inc. for many years. He also owned Midwest Eastern Transport and Metropolitan Real Estate.

Being born in Ohio he was an Ohio State University and Cincinnati Reds fan. He graduated from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict as a medical corpsman.
