Oct. 16, 1918 - Feb. 1, 2013

GOSHEN - William H. Neff, 94, of Goshen and formerly of New Paris, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.

He was born Oct. 16, 1918, in Goshen, to Abe and Zura (Hess) Neff.

He married Harriet (Holliday) Neff on Aug. 31, 1940.

Surviving are his wife, Harriet; children Bill (June) Neff of New Paris and Darcy Boyden of Franklin; siblings Phil (Sue) Neff of Goshen and Iris (Ted) Hanes of North Manchester; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his sisters, Lois Sherman, Betty Anglin and Bonnie Lehman.

He was a former fire chief for five years and a member of VFW Post 985. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was discharged in 1946.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, and for one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service, Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Grace United Methodist Church, New Paris. Burial is in New Paris Cemetery.
