GOSHEN - Philip J. Stotts, 82, died unexpectedly of natural causes in his home, Saturday afternoon, Feb. 2, 2013.

He was born June 23, 1930, in Elkhart County to Ray and Elannor (Quinn) Stotts.

He married Betty Hower on Nov. 25, 1956, in Goshen.

She survives along with two daughters, Cindy (Terry) Bates of Syracuse and Debra Stotts of Goshen; and a brother, William Q. Stotts of Goshen.

A lifetime Goshen resident, Mr. Stotts retired from Johnson Controls after more than 50 years of service.

He was a member of Plymouth United Church of Christ and he volunteered with the Elkhart Township Fire Department.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Plymouth United Church of Christ.
