GOSHEN - Cherie Jean Whirledge, 83, passed away Friday morning, Feb. 1, 2013.
Cherie was born Aug. 26, 1929, to Wayne and Nadine Myers of Millersburg.
She married Willis E. Whirledge on June 4, 1948.
He survives with their children, David (Karen) Whirledge of New Jersey, Shan (Michael) Robinson of Elkhart and Jonathan Whirledge and friend Michelle Choquette of Keizer, Ore. Cherie was a wonderful grandmother to Zachary, Derek, Lucas (Stephanie) and Alex, all of New Jersey, Blake of Elkhart, Brett of Indianapolis and Corey and Chelsea, both of Oregon; and great-grandma to Brayden of Oregon.
Cherie lived most of her life in Millersburg. She spent the last 12 years enjoying her neighbors at Oak Court on the Greencroft Campus in Goshen.
Cherie graduated from Millersburg High School. She retired from the workforce when she left the former Switches Inc. of Goshen.
Cherie chose cremation with no formal funeral, to be handled by the McGann Hay Funeral Home of South Bend. A private burial will follow cremation in Browns Cemetery. The family will host a celebration of her life to be announced at a later date.
