ELKHART - Barbara E. (Swathwood) Berry, 70, of Elkhart, died at 8:53 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital.

Barbara was born Sept. 22, 1942, in Chicago to Victor and Dorothy Mae (Connors) Haga.

She was a homemaker and provided in-home care for the elderly for many years. Barbara enjoyed cooking, traveling and collecting chicken and rooster figures. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by daughters Lisa Kuzmits and Lori (Steve) Beggs, both of Elkhart, and Leslie (Mark) Zoroya of La Verne, Calif.; sister Judith (John) Foltz of California; brother Carl Haga of California; grandchildren Collin and Kelsey Hobson, Elizabeth and Austin Beggs and Nicholas and Jillian Zoroya; great-grandchildren Taitum Myers and Jaxson Kime; nieces Kristine Ann Rangel and Kimberly Ann (Joel) Launchbaugh, both of California; great-nephews Kyle, Danny and Ralph Rangel and Evan Launchbaugh; great-niece Kelly Launchbaugh; and former husband, James Swathwood, and his mother, Martha P. Swathwood of Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jimmy Haga.

Friends may call for two hours prior to the 4 p.m. memorial service Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.
