ELKHART - Sharon K. Steele, 69, of Elkhart, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, at IU Simpson Cancer Center in Indianapolis.

She was born on Sept. 10, 1943, in Elkhart to the late Raymond and Effie (Parks) Frye.

She married Stanley L. Steele on June 23, 1962, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Elkhart.

Survivors include her husband, Stanley L. Steele of Elkhart; brothers Raymond "Bud" (Gwen) Frye of Tulsa, Okla., Dale (Jeannie) Frye of Elkhart and Terry Frye of Alabama; and cousin Rose Greene of Mishawaka.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Marie Steele, on June 30, 1989.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Waterman Westbrook Clouse Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, funeral service, also at the funeral home. Pastor Keith McFarren of Bethel United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery.

She graduated from Elkhart High School in 1961. She loved collectables and Victorian pieces. She was a loving wife, mother and friend. She was a homemaker.

Memorials may be made to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
