Nickalaus T. Griffey Sr.

ELKHART - Nickalaus T. Griffey Sr., 29, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at his home.

He was born May 6, 1983, in Elkhart to Joyce E. Miller and Gregory T. Griffey. He married Erica Craig on April 19, 2010.

She survives with two sons, Nickalaus T. Griffey Jr. and Jordan L. Griffey, at home; his father, Gregory Griffey of Indianapolis; one brother, Nathan G. Griffey of Middlebury; maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Janet S. and Larry G. Johnson of Elkhart; maternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Roger and Loretta Miller of Goshen; paternal grandparents Elmer and Louise Griffey of Mishawaka; and a special cousin, Megan Griffey Burks, who has been a rock and a tremendous source of strength and emotional support for both Nick and Erica for the last few serious months.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Miller.

Nick was employed at Jiffy Lube and Auto Zone and enjoyed classic cars.

Family and friends may gather two hours prior to the service at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart. Pastor Ed Ritchie will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to his children.

Tom and I remember Nick from many years ago...I as his "speech" teacher in elementary school and Tom at the junior high school. We are sorry to hear of your loss but know and at this sad time it is ok to sry and it is ok to hurt.
