Gerry L. Meek

ANGOLA - Gerry Layne Meek, 52, of Angola and formerly of LaGrange, died Thursday, Feb. 14, at his sister's home in Carmel.

He was born Jan. 22, 1961, in Sturgis, Mich., to the late Noble and Derelys (Elliott) Meek.

He graduated from Lakeland High School, LaGrange, and received an accounting degree from University of West Florida.

Gerry was a fun loving and witty man with an infectious laugh. He was fan of the Hoosiers and Cleveland Browns and enjoyed attending athletic events of all varieties, as well as traveling. He also enjoyed volunteering for the athletic teams at Angola High School.

His sister, Lee Ann (Gary) Walton of Carmel; his nephews, Layne Elliott, Eric Oxender, Kyle Walton, Cory Walton, Cole Walton and Kwynn Meek; and niece Janyn Tuttle survive.

His sister, Jan Meek Maynard, and his brother Kerry Meek preceded him in death.

Visitation will be for two hours prior to the 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, memorial at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange.

Gerry would be honored with donations made to Angola High School Athletic Department, 350 S. John McBride Ave., Angola, IN 46703.
