Memories and Condolences

Dan Cantu-Hertzler, Philadelphia, PA

I've known Carol, Carl, Evan, Pete, and (earlier) Kit since before I can remember. We spent many a Sunday afternoon with them when I was young, and I was privileged to see her every now and then in the intervening decades. Carol was a welcoming person, and she had a great sense of humor. She cared deeply about peace, politics, and the church, and she expressed her opinions freely, but in ways that invited open discussion. She knew how to listen. I will always value her memory.

Carol always had a smile on her face and asked how you were; I will miss that. Now who will bake pie shells as gifts? Wishing you all the best in this time of transition.

Carol (and Carl) was a teacher, role model, and mentor for my wife and me second to none. We were so lucky to know her. Our sincere condolences to all who knew and loved her

She has been in my memories since the 1971-'72 school years. What a great teacher! Now she is in my thoughts and prayers.
