Raymond G. Young

Nov. 17, 1937 - Feb. 23, 2013

ELKHART - Raymond Gene "Bear" Young, 75, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Elkhart Hospice House.

He was born Nov. 17, 1937, in Elkhart to Eddie R. and Anna Marie (Bradley) Young.

He married Peggy A. McCuen on Oct. 28, 1966.

She survives with a son, James Bradley (Darlene) Young of Auburndale, Fla.; three grandchildren, Logan and Riley Tarantino and Chase Young; and a brother, Ronald Young of Goshen.

Ray retired as a commercial loan officer for National City Bank and had also worked for Valley American Bank, Salem Bank and St. Joseph Valley Bank.

He was a member of Elcona Country Club and Christiana Creek Country Club and enjoyed golfing. He was an avid IU sports fan. He graduated from Concord High School, earned a business degree from Indiana University and his master's degree from the University of Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army.

Private family graveside services will be Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the IU Athletic Department or the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
