WARSAW - Velma I. Berger, 90, formerly of Nappanee, died at 7:54 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Kosciusko Community Hospital.

She was born June 9, 1922, in Marshall County to Foster and Ilda (Greib) Dumph.

She married Delmarr E. Berger on Dec. 20, 1941, in Nappanee. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1994.

Surviving are daughters Carol (Ronald) Klotz of Milford, Marlene Hirt of Monticello and Susan (Doug) Emerson of Bellvista, Ark.; a son, Loren Berger of South Bend; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, Glenda Sheets of Nappanee.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, LaMar Berger; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Berger; granddaughter Sheila Kay Ellis; and sisters Dorothy Hollar and Mary Holdeman.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and for one hour prior to the funeral service, at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Nappanee United Methodist Church.
