WARSAW - Rex Eugene Snyder, 55, of Warsaw, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at his place of business.
He was born on Dec. 4, 1957, in Warsaw to the late Phillip and Charlene (Zolman) Snyder.
Rex is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Linda (VanDonk) Snyder and a daughter, Heather Snyder, both of Warsaw; two sons, Dustin Snyder of LaPorte and Jon Snyder of Warsaw; grandchildren Isabella, Jocelyn and Susan; a brother, Rick (Mary Lou) Snyder and a sister Cindy (Steve) Stiver, both of Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Scott Snyder.
Rex was a lifetime resident of Warsaw. He was a 1976 graduate of Warsaw High School and he attended Purdue University for two years after graduating high school. He then worked for two years for Snyder Construction. Rex was a jeweler and a numismatist. He started his business in 1978 and opened his store, Snyder's Coins and Jeweler, in 1980.
He was a member of National Association of Watches and Clock Collectors Inc. (NAWCC) for 21 years, American Numismatic Association (ANA) for 30 years and Indiana State Numismatic Association (ISNA) for 30 years. Rex enjoyed collecting coins, Kosciusko County memorabilia and antiques, traveling and visiting with friends and family.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
