Dwight Farringer, N. Manchester, IN
This is Dwight Farringer at N. Manchester. I am an old class-mate and room-mate of Wayne. We were room-mates during first year at Manchester College and I think again for part of our senior year. I was a Physics Dept. lab. asst. and worked quite a bit in the physics labs, while Wayne was on the photo staff for the Aurora yearbook and did quite a lot of work in the photo lab, which was in the physics dept.
Five of us - Merlin Shull, Harold Statler, and*****Speicher besides Wayne and me - went on to Bethany Seminary and lived up in the 3rd-floor dormitory, where Wayne and I were again room-mates during our first year there. We were able to arrange for use of a basement space in one of the nearby Bethany apartments as a photo darkroom. Both of us were into photography - Wayne more professionally than I. After that first year - and ever since - I became married and chose to live with my wife.
I am about 3 months younger than Wayne, and we 86-year-old geezers have had long, mostly pleasant, and fruitful lives but we are now slipping away. I intend to go to Goshen tomorrow morning - weather permitting - and be there for the service at the church. Our old classmate Harold Statler is also here at Timbercrest, battling cancer now, and is not able to go along with me.
With kindest regards, Dwight Farringer
