ELKHART - Mark Alan Werbianskyj, 55, of Elkhart, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at his place of work, Parker Hannifin in Ligonier. His death was due to accidental electrocution.
He was born Nov. 23, 1957, in South Bend to John and Sandra (Barber) Werbianskyj.
On Aug. 8, 2008, in Elkhart he married Diana M. (Daugherty) Arnold.
She survives along with a daughter, Jessica (Steve) Arnold of Sumter, S.C.; a granddaughter, Amber Rose Arnold; a grandson, Quinn Arnold; and four stepchildren, Frank (Kristen) Arnold of Goose Creek, S.C., Michael (Jenna) Arnold of Dallas, Brooke Arnold of Goose Creek and Sarah (Christian) Jalbert of Belleville, Ill. Also surviving are four step-grandchildren; his father and stepmother, John and Priscilla Werbianskyj; two brothers, Jon (Cindy) Werbianskyj of Goshen and Greg (Karen) Werbianskyj of Elkhart; two sisters, Sabrina Mullen of Elkhart and Tamara (Calvin) Moore of Pensacola, Fla.; stepbrother Doug Higgins of Goshen; stepsisters Cheryl (Kevin) Reed of Goshen and Lori Weldy of Elkhart; 12 Ukrainian cousins; numerous nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts; and many more friends he treated like family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Werbianskyj.
Mark worked in the maintenance department at Parker Hannifin in Ligonier for the past 10 years. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. He loved his pets and enjoyed NHRA, traveling, gardening and playing Magic (the card game) with family and friends. Mark was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, where the funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. The Rev. Deacon Andrew Werbiansky, Mark's cousin, from St. Luke's Orthodox Church in Palos Hills, Ill., will preside. Cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
