SALTILLO, Miss. - Gage Hamilton Fidram-Ford, 17, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, in Lee County after a motor vehicle accident.
Gage was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., on Oct. 13, 1995, to Michael Ford and Laurie Hamilton Fidram. He moved to the Tupelo area six years ago with his family and was a junior at Saltillo High School.
Blessed with extraordinary athletic ability, Gage was a wide receiver on the SHS football team, as well as a track star and tennis player. Gage treated everyone like family. He loved spending time with his buddies and eating McDonald's, where he was known to frequent. He loved music, was an avid University of Michigan fan and lived life to the fullest.
A joint celebration service for Gage and his best friend, Jesse Witt, was Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Orchard Church in Tupelo, with Brother Barton Ramsey and coach Charles Covington officiating. The burial followed in Tupelo Memorial Park. More than 2,200 friends and family attended, many of whom wore the number 13 in memory of Gage.
Surviving are his father, Michael Ford of Elkhart, Ind.; mother Laurie Fidram; stepfather Roger Fidram; brothers Colton Penley of Middlebury, Ind., River Fidram, Dakota Fidram, Drew Fidram of South Bend, Ind., and Brett Fidram; sisters Mekenna Miller of Elkhart and Courtney Fidram; grandfather Jack Ford of Elkhart; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his Saltillo High School family.
He was preceded in death by his best friend, Jesse Witt.
