Mrs. Phillip was truly an inspiration to me. She was one of the most respected teacher, mentor and Christian that I have had the pleasure of knowing. She will truly be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Phillips passing. Mrs. Phillips was my first grade teacher at Roosevelt but she was much more than that, she was a mentor and friend. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes while in Mrs. Phillips class after I slipped into a coma. Mrs. Phillips came to the hospital multiple times to check on me. She also made sure that the other students never treated me differently so she had me do a show and tell with my meter and demo giving myself injections, so instead of appearing to be different, she made me the "cool" kid. Mrs. Phillips was also my biggest cheerleader. As the years wore on, she was always there. She was at my high school graduation party and when my brother passed unexpectedly 7 years ago she was at my parents home and the first thing she said was, " I just had to be here to see how my Lane Lane is doing." Heaven truly gained another angel. I have so many fond memories of Mrs. Phillips. She was a wonderful woman that truly was a blessing to me. May she rest in peace.
