GOSHEN - Howard Junior Heeter, 85, went to be with the love of his life in heaven very unexpectedly Saturday night, Aug. 10, 2013, in his home.
He was born Nov. 15, 1927, in Goshen to Milo and Alma (Juday) Heeter.
On Feb. 28, 1947, in Goshen he married Nancy R. Voorhees. She preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 2002.
Junior is survived by a daughter, Leslie (Raymond) Dort of Marysville, Ohio; two sons, Stephen M. (Shauna) and Bradley A., both of Goshen; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two beloved cats, Greta and Pearl.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his lovely wife, Nancy; a brother, Dallas Heeter; and two sisters, Virginia Cripe and Doris Lewallen.
Junior was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Goshen High School in 1947. He worked at the hydro-electric plants, and retired from NIPSCO. He was a longtime member of Plymouth United Church of Christ.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where there will be a 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, funeral. Pastors Linda Sue Hewitt and David Boothby of Plymouth United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
