GOSHEN - Van Troy Evans, 63, of Goshen and formerly of Middlesboro, Ky., died at 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, in his residence.
He was born Feb. 14, 1950, in Fonde, Ky., to Richard and Doshie (Snodgrass) Evans.
Surviving are his sisters, Etta Pruitt of Wapakoneta, Ohio, Susan (Sam) Goins and Teresa (Steve) Burger, both of Goshen, Kathy (Denny) Burden of St. Mary's, Ohio, and Beverly (Dan) Baker of Wapakoneta; and brothers Hanley (Elaine) Evans of St. Mary's, Richard (Edna) Evans of Goshen, Ronnie (Mabel) Evans of Troy, Tenn., and Gary (Kathy) Evans and Larry (Brenda) Evans, both of Goshen.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters Geraldine Harrell and Sylvia Lamb; and a brother, Kenneth Evans.
Van was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1969-1971. He was a member of the Eagles in Goshen.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, where a service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013. Pastor Jewell Hager of First General Baptist of Osceola will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery.
