ELKHART - Tulio D. "Danny" Morataya, 47, of Elkhart, died at 3:03 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital surrounded by his wife and children.
He was born Nov. 20, 1965, in Guatemala to Tulio and Elsa (Ortiz) Morataya. He married Anna Jancie Morataya on Sept. 23, 1995, in Los Angeles.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Jancie Morataya; mother Elsa Morataya; children Cesar, Jennifer, Danny Jr., Britney and Kristy, all of Indiana, and Jancie Vanessa of California; siblings Mario and Nery Morataya, Liliana Amaya and Lucrecia Galindo; niece Veronica Amaya of California; nephew Fernando Amaya of California; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and aunts in Guatemala.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tulio Morataya; and his uncle, Alfonso Ortiz.
He was a computer technician, specializing in network infrastructure, at Better World Books in Mishawaka. He enjoyed listening to old classics and watching sports, especially the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers and UCLA.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, with a funeral service to follow at 7 p.m., all at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Burial will be Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, in Glendale, Calif.
The family would like to thank Danny's co-workers, boss and the entire staff of Better World Books for their kindness, love and support as well as family and friends close to him in Indiana, including the Romeo Pineda family.
"God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you, and whispered 'Come to Me.' With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating. Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best."
Danny will forever by missed by his many friends and loving family. May God grant him eternal rest.
