Annabelle Chaffee

ELKHART - Annabelle Chaffee, 84, of Elkhart, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Riverside Village.

She was born Jan. 14, 1928, in Mishawaka, to Homer and Anna (Snyder) Dickerson.

On Nov. 26, 1953, in Elkhart, she married Richard R. Chaffee. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1999, in Elkhart.

Surviving are a sister, Carmen L. Nolen of Elkhart, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Dickerson, and a sister, Mary Louise Price.

Annabelle was a member of First Baptist Church and Quarter Century Club at CTS. She was known for her keen sense of humor.

She retired in 1986 from CTS Corp., where she was employed for 40 years.

Visitation for family and friends is from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at the funeral home. Pastor John Blodgett will preside.

Entombment will follow in Rice Cemetery.

I am so sorry that I never got to meet Annabelle. My Mother, Helen Pyke Little, used to talk about her to me as we looked at old pictures together. Mom lost track of her in later years. Mom died in Mar. at the young age of 96. Rest in Jesus, Pam Little Smith
