ELKHART - James F. K. Miller, 68, of Bristol, passed away at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at the Elkhart Hospice House.

He was born to Harry and Coralou (Zimmerman) Miller on April 9, 1944, in Valparaiso.

James is survived by a sister, MaryAnn (Jack) Stees of Oswejo, Ill.; a daughter, Lisa (Jim Cupp) Bevers of Bristol; and two sons, James F.K. II (Jennifer) Miller of Munroe Falls, Ohio, and Ryan L. (Cathy) Miller of Jacksonville, Fla. Also surviving are six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two beloved dogs, Abbey and Lacey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Coralou Miller, and his wife, Laurie.

James worked as a dispatcher at Horizon Transport in Wakarusa and also owned Miller private investigations in Bristol. He belonged to the Bristol American Legion Post 0143 and was a member of the Elkhart Coin Club. He enjoyed collecting coins and baseball memorabilia. James served in the U.S. Army, state-side as an M.P.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
