CASSOPOLIS, Mich. - Evelyn I. Johnson, 94, of Cassopolis, passed away at 4:55 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at the Cass County Medical Care Facility.

She was born Jan. 30, 1918, in Decatur to Frank and Madge (Latham) Leiber.

On Sept. 14, 1936, in Plymouth, Ind., she married Lynn R. Johnson. He preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 2007, in Mt. Pleasant.

Surviving are a daughter, Pam (Art) Cour of Mecosta; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ben Johnson; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Johnson; a brother; and a sister.

Evelyn was homemaker who enjoyed knitting, quilting and square dancing. She was also an avid reader.

There will be no visitation or services and cremation will take place. Burial of her cremains will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be given to the First Christian Church in Dowagiac.
