SOUTH BEND - Donald Joseph Quinn, 88, of South Bend and formerly of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012.

Donald was born Dec. 13, 1923, in Chicago to Maurice and Anna (Sheehan) Quinn. On Dec. 28, 1948, Donald married Geraldine Mills. She survives.

His life's work was in public relations.

Surviving with his wife of 63 years are their son, Kevin (Carol) Quinn of Fremont, Calif., and grandchildren, Michael, Brian (Tiana) and Matthew; children Donna Quinn of South Bend and John Quinn (Hal Steinberg) of Studio City, Calif.; son Deacon Larry (Marivic) Quinn of Hayward, Calif., and grandchild Michelle; and son Christopher (Michelle) Quinn, M.D., of South Bend and grandchildren Patrick, Connor, Ryan, Coley, Brendan, Keegan and Keely.

A brother, Kenneth Quinn preceded him in death.

Donald graduated from Dominguez College in California.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus 837, St. Jude Council.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. The visitation will conclude with a rosary and vigil service at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Holy Cross Catholic Church , 1050 Wilber St., South Bend.

Cremation has taken place.
