Seth Bachtel

ELKHART - Seth Bachtel, 21, of Elkhart, went home to his maker Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in his residence.

Seth, a generous and loyal person, was born May 30, 1991, in Goshen, to William Bachtel and Maggie (Jelinski) Bair.

He was a 2010 Elkhart Memorial graduate.

Seth was an accomplished mechanic and worked for R-way Trailer in Elkhart.

He was a kind-hearted person with a pure heart for God.

Seth enjoyed nature, serving people, motorcycles and had volunteered for several years at Hero's Camp in South Bend.

Seth was an intelligent, promising young man, full of life and interested in everything. He was quick with a smile and an easy laugh. We will miss him greatly.

Surviving are his father, William Bachtel of Middlebury; mother and stepfather Maggie and Jim Bair of Elkhart; brother Jesse Bachtel of South Bend; two sisters, Shoshana (Ryan) Lund and Sarah Bachtel, both of Portland, Ore.; grandparents Marie Bachtel of Argos, Bernard and Violet Jelinksi of South Bend, and Ray and Lillian Bair of Elkhart; aunts and uncles Nancy and Tom Keiser of Loganville, Ga., Tom and Sonya Jelinski of Granger, John Jelinski of Duluth, Minn., Jimmy Jelinski of Dayton, Ohio, Becky and Skip Phillips of Argos, Dan and Peggy Bair of Forest City, N.C., Becky and Rocko Smucker of Ashville, N.C., and Joy and Ron Martin of Sawyer, N.D.; and 16 cousins.

Friends may call for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, service at Belmont Mennonite Church in Elkhart.

Burial will be in Olive (West) Cemetery.

Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
