SHIPSHEWANA - Jim Lauver, 57, of Shipshewana, died at 10:05 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27.
He was born Sept. 7, 1955, in Puerto Rico to the Rev. J. Paul and Lois (Swihart) Lauver. On March 29, 1980, he married Jan Mast.
Survivors include his wife; his parents of LaGrange; daughters Jessie (Mike) Whitten and Jenny Lauver; sister Maggie Glaser; and brothers Paul (Marilyn) Lauver, John (Patti) Lauver and David (Pam) Lauver. Also surviving of Jan's family are Bill and Doris Mast, Gary and Lynnette Mast, Mike and Judy Mast and Phil and Sandy Mast, all of Shipshewana, Lorilee and Brian Christner and Brian Mast.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Lauver.
He was a member and elder of Marion Mennonite Church and had been president of the church council for two terms.
He loved traveling, hiking and playing tennis.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Marion Mennonite Church, 5460 N. 450 W., Shipshewana.
A private burial will be Monday, Dec. 31, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10:30 a.m. at Shore Mennonite Church, Shipshewana.
Memorials may be given to the Marion Mennonite Church Building Project.
